A Free Community & Resource Hub for Anyone Affected by an Eating Disorder or Body Image Difficulties

If you're struggling with an eating disorder or body image concerns, you're not alone. Recovery can feel overwhelming, and there may be times when you've questioned whether it's really possible. I know that feeling because I’ve lived with anorexia and body image difficulties for more than 30 years.

Today, I can honestly say that recovery is possible.

Recovery isn't always a straight path. It takes courage, commitment and, most importantly, support. That's why I created Mindful Recovery Support—to offer a safe, compassionate space where people can connect, feel understood and realise they don't have to face recovery alone.

I also recognise that accessing eating disorder support in the UK isn't always easy. Waiting lists can be long, and sometimes the people around us, despite their best intentions, may not fully understand what we're experiencing. This community exists to bridge that gap by providing a welcoming space where you can connect with others who understand the challenges of recovery and want to support one another with kindness, hope and encouragement.

Alongside traditional therapy, I discovered a range of practices that played a significant role in my own recovery, including mindfulness, yoga, meditation, gratitude and developing a more compassionate relationship with myself. Throughout this website, you'll find free resources, practical tools and inspiration based on these approaches, with new content added regularly to support you wherever you are on your recovery journey.

Free Online Support Group

Our free weekly online support group launches on Monday 6th July 2026 and will take place every Monday at 7:00 pm (BST). Each one-hour session offers a supportive, confidential space to connect with others, share experiences if you wish, and take positive steps towards recovery together. I also have a free facebook chat group for support and connection between out meetings. It’s up to you whether you want to join one or both.

Monthly In-Person Support Group

I'm also delighted to be launching a monthly in-person support group in Chesham. Meetings will take place at 7:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning 14th July 2026, at the White Hill Centre, just a five-minute walk from Chesham Underground Station, with free on-site parking available.

Welcome to Mindful Recovery Support.  A place where hope, compassion and recovery come together.

Mindful Recovery Support is a peer support community and educational resource. It is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment. I encourage anyone experiencing an eating disorder to seek support from their GP or an appropriately qualified healthcare professional alongside engaging with this community.
