Helping Yourself Through Anxious Days

A calming watercolor landscape with a sunset over mountains, a lake, lavender flowers, a fluttering butterfly, and a stack of three rocks with a heart on the top rock. Text reads "Anxiety Support" with a subtitle about mindfulness practices for calm and comfort.

If you're reading this because anxiety has been feeling loud recently, I'm really glad you've found your way here.

I've lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember, and during my recovery from anorexia there were times when it felt overwhelming.

Choosing recovery meant learning a completely different way of caring for myself. As I began letting go of old coping strategies, my anxiety seemed to get much louder before it became quieter. "Looking back now, I realise I was teaching my nervous system that it was safe to live differently."

That's why I created Mindful Moments.

Mindful Moments - A Companion for Anxious Days

Mindful Moments is the companion I wish I'd had during those difficult days. Inside you'll find the breathing practices, mindfulness exercises, grounding techniques and gentle reflections that have helped me most over the years. Alongside these are a few simple explanations to help make sense of why anxiety can feel so overwhelming, and how we can begin to work with it rather than against it.

As I often say throughout this website, there isn't one perfect way to recover and there isn't one perfect way to manage anxiety either.

Some of these practices will resonate with you immediately. Others might not feel quite right, and that's okay too.

Take what feels helpful, leave what doesn't, and come back whenever you need to. This companion is here to support you, not to give you another thing to get right.

My hope is that somewhere within these pages you'll find a practice that helps you pause... take one slow breath... and gently find your way back to yourself.

Thank you for allowing me to walk alongside you for a little while.

And as always, if you have any thoughts, suggestions or feedback, I'd love to hear from you.
