Because The Little Wins Matter

Last night I stood in a crowd of almost seventy thousand  people watching Garth Brooks perform. It was his first UK performance in 30 years and, as fantastic as the show was, it was the little things that made it even more special.

The rainbow that appeared above the stage just before he came on.

Feeling the vibrations of the music flowing through my body.

Looking up to see the beautiful full moon shining towards the end of the night.

These are moments I wouldn't have noticed when I was struggling with anorexia. My attention would have been focused on how fat I felt, what I'd eaten, whether I'd moved enough that day—all those exhausting thoughts that an eating disorder repeats over and over again.

Being fully present and experiencing so much joy didn't happen overnight.

It was a slow, sometimes painful, journey paved by thousands of little wins.

The little wins that felt insignificant at the time, but which have ultimately given me my life back.

That's why I created this resource.

It's an invitation to notice the little wins. Not just to record them, but to recognise their significance. To remind yourself that something which might seem completely ordinary to someone else may have taken an enormous amount of courage, perseverance and self-compassion to achieve.

Because recovery isn't only found in the big milestones.

More often, it's found in the quiet moments that remind us we're slowly taking our lives back—one little win at a time.

What Is a Little Win?

Little wins are the small, everyday moments that remind us recovery is happening.

They might be moments of courage, connection, joy or simply being present. Hugging a tree, feeling the sunshine on your face, hearing birds sing, getting lost in a good book or laughing with someone you love. They might be choosing food because you genuinely want it, accepting help when you need it, or noticing that your thoughts aren't consumed by food for a little while.

On their own, these moments may seem small.

Together, they tell the story of a life being gently rediscovered.

These are just a few examples to inspire you. Your little wins will be as unique as your own recovery journey, but every one matters!

The Little Wins Journal

I created The Little Wins Journal as a gentle companion to help you notice the moments recovery is quietly giving back, because I know how important they become.

Each page invites you to pause, reflect and celebrate the everyday experiences that can so easily go unnoticed. Whether it's enjoying a cup of tea, laughing with a friend, hearing birds sing or simply realising your thoughts aren't consumed by food for a little while, every little win matters.

Inside you'll find space to notice today's little win, explore what made it possible and reflect on what it tells you about your recovery. Over time, these pages become more than a journal. They become a reminder of how far you've come and the life you're gradually rediscovering.

Recovery isn't built on one extraordinary moment…

It's built on thousands of little wins.

I hope this companion helps you notice yours.

This companion will be here whenever you're ready," written in cursive font with purple hearts and decorative lines.

Recovery isn't only about the big milestones. It's the thousands of little wins that quietly give us our lives back.

This page is a celebration of those moments. The ordinary experiences that often go unnoticed but together tell the story of a life being gently rediscovered.
